Meet the Directors
James Paul – Director
James is an accomplished recruitment professional with over 11 years-experience in recruiting white collar construction and engineering professionals in Queensland.
After completing his University degree at the University of Queensland James spent several years working with disadvantaged young people as a youth worker for the Salvation Army and Mission Australia before commencing a career in recruitment.
After working for two high-profile recruitment firms for five years James established Contec Recruitment in 2006. James has a renowned reputation in the Queensland construction industry working with local building contractors for over 10 years and supplying high quality white-collar staff to organisations of all sizes and participating in industry events and forums including the Master Builders. It was James’s aim to establish a boutique recruitment firm that put’s a higher level of importance on customer service and promotes positive long-term relationships with clients. It is his belief this is something that is not provided by the larger recruitment firms.
Contec Recruitment has been operating for 10+ years and has forged a reputation as the ‘go to people’ for technical recruitment solutions for companies of all sizes and a company with the highest level of integrity and trustworthiness which is reflected in the long term business relationships formed with clients.

Justin Paul – Director
After living and working overseas for five years in hospitality management, Justin returned to Australia and started his career in recruitment.
Initially working in labour hire this was the perfect training ground and proved to be a fast-paced and challenging environment for Justin as he managed large blue-collar workforce recruitment drives for large industrial clients in South East Queensland.
Justin’s career quickly developed and he was offered an executive recruitment position with a recognised global recruitment firm specialising in white collar recruitment for the construction industry in Queensland and was immediately recognised in this business for his high level of performance gaining both accolades from his management and a growing list of repeat clients who valued Justin’s high level of customer service and a level of integrity that made him stand out from his competitors.
In 2007 Justin was offered a senior consultant role with Contec Recruitment to work as a specialised recruiter to the Civil Construction industry. In the last 10+ years Justin has forged his position in the local industry the leading recruitment provider to civil contractors and has developed as an intimate understanding the industry in Queensland. He has witnessed the recruitment business evolve into offering so much more than purely filling staff requirements. Organising networking events and providing clients with key contacts within their industry to boost their business has proved Justin to be a valuable contact for his clients beyond that of a typical recruitment consultant.
As a director in the business Justin takes great pride in the Contec Recruitment. This commitment has seen the business continue to flourish and is still based finding cost-effective solutions for clients in sourcing high-performing personnel to help grow their business and deliver projects on time and budget.
