This progressive and award-winning business own their land, design, build and manage the commercial builds.  With a strong portfolio of projects and requiring further safety resources, they are currently looking for a Site Safety Officer to support projects in Brisbane, initially across projects-based South of Brisbane ranged between $20M - $30M. Projects consist of multiple stages: planning, civils, built to practical completion .As Safety Officer, reporting into the Project Manager you will play a key role within the construction team. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:Ensuring a safe working environment on-site by enforcing health and safety regulations, identifying hazards, and promoting a strong safety cultureEnsuring all construction activities are conducted safely, compliantly, and in accordance with Health and Safety legislation, Codes of Practice, and company policies Manage site inductions, training and auditing Provides hands-on site-based safety leadership, while contributing to broader safety systems, risk management, and continuous improvement across construction projects Hands on assistance with active engagement with supervisors, workers, and contractorsMaintain accurate WHS documentation and records via HammerTech To be successful you must have a minimum of 3 - 5 years safety experience on commercial projects. Working within live retail environments is highly desirable. Minimum requirement of Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (or equivalent) and white card. Strong team player with the ability to work well with the construction team, build relationships and rapport at all levels, encouraging and effectively promoting a safe working environment. Strong working knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and proficient with Microsoft suite.
